Looking at my blog, I noticed that it really doesn’t look like a blog at all. I will start putting in not-so-serious stuff after this point. This semester I have much more free time than I usually do, so all I just can spend time blogging.  Next week, hopefully I will be writing a blog about Puerto Rico with some nice pictures. For today, I have two links to share:

Here is video of a Turkish guy who gets blasted by a truck that was hit by a train, and survives. yeah life is full of surprises, just enjoy it.

Also an interesting economist article from the Economist about the popularity of Erdogan in Turkey:

It is nice to see an article about Turkey as the main article of the Europe section. I think as the economic crisis manifests itself more in Turkey, Erdogan will find it harder to maintain his popularity. As it happens in most of the critical times, the nationalist movements may gain power. Hopefully, as he is tested by the crisis, Erdogan will give up his autocratic tendencies, and come back to the liberal AKP (JDP) lines his party had before the 2007 elections victory. It is time to put aside secularist-Islamist conflicts and see how each of three main parties propose solutions to the global recession, and how can all those ideas can be combined. If only AKP decides on a “rescue plan”, I am afraid CHP and MHP will try to make it fail without considering consequences
